Production management and automation in the context of IoT—often summarized under the term Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) or Industry 4.0—refer to the comprehensive digitalization and interconnection of machines, systems, and processes across the entire industrial manufacturing environment. The objective is to create a “Smart Factory” in which production is not only automated, but also intelligent, flexible, and self-optimizing. The application area of Processing & Automation leverages IoT data to provide transparency into production processes and the resources used. This enables targeted control and optimization, covering both the manufacturing of goods and the provision of services. We implement this objective and use case together with our partners.
